- >what ide hdd can go in the 1200 electronically etc ?
-
- Most can, but it must not be higher dan 1"...
-
- >ie can any ide be installed ? from pc etc !
-
- Some types give problems...don't know which...depends also on the hardware you
- have...
-
- >what about hdd parameters etc ?
-
- 2.5" fit easy, but are expensive...
- 3.5" are more difficult to fit, but are much cheaper than 2.5" types...
- EIDE is recommended...(faster, bigger in capacity)
-
- >anyone got a 120meg plus ide type hdd drive for sale suitable for 1200 ?
-
- 120 meg is full before you know it...go for an 500MB+ if you can afford it...
-
- Seagate ST51080A (1GB) is easy to fit, although I have one that vibrates a
- little...I feel it when I lay my hand on my mouse :-(
-
- Go for another ST5xxxxA instead... (ST5850A, ST51275A, ...)
-
- Now I have a Seagate ST32140A (2GB) which works great ! (hard to fit though)
-
- All the Seagates I had started without the need to reset (with Blizzard 1230-
- III)
- Some prefer Seagate, some prefer Western Digital and others prefer Conner : it's
- up to you...
-
- What you need for 3.5" Harddrives :
-
- adapter 2.5"-->3.5"
- powercable diskdrive-->Harddrive
-
- >any help advice much appreciated
-
- Hope this helps you !
